the real kepentingan bangunan bersejarah....

Berikan pendapat anda tentang kepentingan Bangunan-Bangunan Bersejarah.

dilaksanakan sejak tahun 2002 lagi.
Langkah memperkenalkan
bangunan bersejarah seperti Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Kota A famosa, Istana Jugra dan
puluh lagi, mengambarkan kepelbagaian corak hidup masyarakat dahulu kala.
demi kesinambungan budaya masyarakat kita.
kerana budaya menunjukkan bangsa.

KEPENTINGAN MEMULIHARA BANGUNAN BERSEJARAH

Dressing for SUCCESS ....

An article in U.S.A. Today spoke about candidates for jobs wearing jeans, purple sweat suits, and spike heels or sneakers. Other applicants weren't afraid to show pierced body parts and spiked hair. Still others chewed gum or showed up in rumpled clothes or with their pants falling down. One recruiter even told a candidate with his trousers down below his hips, to "Pull your pants up." According to the article, the outlandish dress costs some candidates the job.
Dress Your Best When Interviewing
Does it really make a difference how you dress for an interview? In many cases, it does. I'll never forget the gentleman I interviewed for an accounting position. He had been out of work for a few months and wanted to show me why. He took off his jacket, unbuttoned his shirt and started to pull down his pants (this is a true story) to show me the scar from a boat propeller that had injured him. He didn't get the job. Neither did the young lady in a bright red skirt so short and tight that she could hardly sit down!
In the conservative business climate I worked in at the time, appearances did matter. In other environments it isn't as important. However, it does make sense to dress your best for the interview, regardless of the dress code at the organization. If you're in doubt about how to dress for an interview, it is best to err on the side of conservatism. It is much better to be overdressed than underdressed (or undressed). If you're not sure, check with the person who scheduled the interview and ask.
According to Kim Zoller at Image Dynamics, 55% of another person's perception of you is based on how you look. Her Dressing for Success information gives some tips on how to look your best, without necessarily spending a lot of money. Here's a quick look at the basics:

lolipop !!!

The History of Lollipop Candy

According to the Miriam Webster Dictionary, the definition of the word "lollipop" is as follows:
We carry a large assortment of lollipops including Charms Blo Pops, Tootsie Pops and much more!Main Entry: lol•li•pop
Variant(s): or lol-ly-pop
Function: noun
Etymology: perhaps from English dialect lolly (tongue) + pop
Date: 1784
1: a lump of hard candy on the end of a stick
2: British: a round stop sign on a pole used to stop traffic (as at a school crossing).
Although the definition of one of the best selling candy items is relatively simple, the actual history is a little more complicated.
The first candy on a stick, according to the National Confectionary Association, was probably created by cavemen who maintained beehives and collected honey by stick. Not wanting to waste the sweet residue, they, most likely, licked the utensil and thus the first unintentional lollipop, or, candy on a stick, was born.
It has been reported and verified through archeological discoveries that ancient Arabs, Chinese and Egyptians produced fruit and nut confections which were "candied" in honey which served as a preservative. Due to the nature of the sticky substance, recent discoveries have hinted that sticks were inserted into these treats to make them easier to eat.
In the middle ages in Europe, sugar was an imported luxury item thus making candy extremely expensive. As such, it was enjoyed by nobility and the very wealthy. In order to make this delicacy last longer, sugar was boiled and formed into hard blocks. Although this might be considered the advent of bulk candy, it is reported that candy treats were made complete with sticks and ornate handles.
In the 17th Century, as sugar became plentiful, it was considered a delicacy in England to enjoy boiled sugar candy treats. In order to make them easier to eat, a stick was inserted. By looking at the definition, linguists have surmised that the term "lollipop" may have been derived from street vendors in London during the age of Charles Dickens.
With the discovery of sugar beet juice and the onset of the industrial revolution, the confectionary manufacturing industry blossomed like never before. Hard candy such as horehound drops, lemon drops and peppermint and wintergreen lozenges became commonplace and new candies were created daily.
As with so many other technical innovations, the 20th century ushered in the era of automation and this is where the true history of the birth of the lollipop begins.
There remain discrepancies as to who was the true creator of lollipops. As early as 1905, the McAviney Candy Company, now defunct, may have stumbled upon the lollipop by default. The owner created boiled hard candies which were stirred by stick. At day's end, as a treat for his children, he would bring home sticks covered with the hard candy residue. It wasn't until 1908 that he began to market these "used candy sticks". Although hard evidence does not exist as to when the first candy stick was sold, if true, this would make the McAviney Candy Company the first to offer mass produced lollipops.
In 1908 in Racine, Wisconsin, the first automated lollipop production was invented by the Racine Confectionary Machine Company, not out of ingenuity but rather in the call of service. This innovative, and now defunct, company invented a machine whose sole purpose was to find a way to put hard candy on the end of a stick. The output of this machine was 2400 lollipops per hour and the company believed that they could produce enough lollipops in a week to supply the nation's demand for one year.
The Racine Confectionary Company held the title of the creator of the mass produced lollipop until approximately 1912 when Samuel Born, a Russian immigrant and entrepreneur, invented a machine whose sole purpose was to automatically insert sticks into candy. The City of San Francisco considered this candy innovation so amazing that they awarded him the keys to the city in 1916!
Ever restless and a true lover of confectionaries, Samuel Born is also credited with inventing Sprinkles (or, as they are affectionately called on the East Coast, Jimmies) which are the candy toppings often found on desserts and ice cream. This idea stemmed from his desire to use every portion of the byproducts of creating lollipops.
Unfortunately, no one knows exactly when the lollipop was created, but we do know that it is one of the most popular candies in existence.
While the Racine Confectionary Company was able to produce 57,000 lollipops in one day, which they felt would satisfy the market for an entire year, modern candy companies, such as Spangler Candy Company (creator of Dum Dum Lollipops, Saf-T-Pop and countless other lollipop favorites) can produce up to 3,000,000 per day which hardly satisfies the nation's cravings!
Lollipops come in all shapes and sizes and we offer over 35 varieties from which to choose. Whether you want a Charms Lollipop, Tootsie Pop or a lollipop with a cricket, our candy selection is second to none.

retro CANDY ...

Established in 1927, we have seen many candy trends come and go and backed by one of the oldest wholesale candy companies in the United States, we are often asked about the history of candy and the current craze for retro candies.
Perhaps we could say that the fascination with candy, chocolate in particular, first occured in 1502 when Christopher Columbus returned home from his fourth voyage of the "Americas".  Although he was not partial to this bittersweet treat, his benefactors in Spain found it fascinating and 500 years ater, this trend continues stronger than ever!
Although it would be impossible to present an exact history, for sake of clarity, this timeline illustrates the pattern at which the candy industry developed in the United States from 1800's onward.
As you will see, many retro candies ,and their founding companies, have come and gone but it is interesting to note that sixty five (65) percent of American candy bars have been around for longer than sixty (60) years.

Become A Teenage Model - understanding the Teen Modelling Industry

If you want to become a teenage model then you need to have a good understanding of the teen modelling industry before you make any firm decisions. The age parameters for teen modelling vary depending on the modelling agency, but as a rough guide, a teenage model will fall anywhere between 12 and 19 years of age. The usual modelling criteria and restrictions surrounding height, weight and build do not apply as strictly to teenage models as they do to adult models.
Specific requirements will depend entirely on the agency that you use. When you put yourself forward for a casting or audition however, you may find that the organisation offering the work may have a specific look or idea in their mind of the type of teenage model that they want to represent their product or service. The agency will ensure that you fit into any specified criteria for any jobs that they send you to.
There are several reasons for this more relaxed approach to a teenager's look; firstly of course, nobody can expect a child of say 13 to be 5' 8" tall. Also, the range of work available for teenage models varies hugely - you may be working on a catalogue shoot, modelling clothes and accessories, or you may be used as a teenage model for a commercial selling certain products, and if you're really lucky and very successful as a teenage model, you may even end up being signed to a high end agency where you could work on huge marketing campaigns for well-known brands. Another common type of work that is available to teenage models is being used for teen magazines, where they are looking for everyday-looking teenagers that represent their market audience.
Laws and Parental Support for Teenage Models
To work in the teen modelling industry, an aspiring teenager will need the support of their parents or legal guardian. While the emotional support a parent can offer is vital, perhaps even more essentially, they will need to invest a lot of their own personal time to take you to castings and auditions for teen modelling work. There are also legal requirements you need to be aware of - under the Child Licensing Law, any person under 16 years of age (or who is still in full time education) has to have a current license to work - there are also restrictions on the number of hours that under 16's are allowed to work for.

Freelance or Model Agency?
If you're sure that this career is definitely for you, then you will also need to think about whether you would prefer to go it alone as a freelance model, or have the support of a professional modelling agency. Freelance modelling is much tougher in many respects, as you will need to organise your own portfolio, auditions and castings and be responsible for every aspect of your career.
If you decide you will have a better chance of success as a teenage model by being affiliated with a modelling agency, take the time to check that the model agency you are considering is a reputable one. You also need to be aware that if you decide to work through a modelling agency, instead of keeping all of your hard earned money from your teen modelling jobs yourself, you will be expected to pay a commission of all earnings to your modelling agency. Even if you work with a modelling agency, you are still classed as self employed. This means that you will be responsible for keeping your own accounts and submitting any necessary paperwork or tax returns to HMRC. This is clearly another reason why a teenage model needs the support and help of their parents!

an EXCELLENT article on RAMADHAN

It is appropriate that every Muslim should receive the blessed month of Ramadan with repentance, sincerity, resoluteness and earnestness. He/she should make the intention to perform extra acts of devotion and worship therein, including the Night Prayer (qiyam), recitation of Qur'an, and abundant charity to the poor and needy.
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), used to say the following when the month of Rajab began. "Oh Allah! Bless us in Rajab and Sha`ban, and bring us, oh Allah, to Ramadan." [Narrated by Tabarani and Ahmad]
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) addressed his companions on the last day of Sha`ban, saying, "Oh people! A great month has come over you; a blessed month; a month in which is a night better than a thousand months; month in which Allah has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night. Whoever draws nearer (to Allah) by performing any of the (optional) good deeds in (this month) shall receive the same reward as performing an obligatory deed at any other time, and whoever discharges an obligatory deed in (this month) shall receive the reward of performing seventy obligations at any other time. It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Heaven. It is the month of charity, and a month in which a believer's sustenance is increased. Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast, shall have his sins forgiven, and he will be saved from the Fire of Hell, and he shall have the same reward as the fasting person, without his reward being diminished at all." [Narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah]
In another hadith, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) says, "Ramadan has come to you. (It is) a month of blessing, in which Allah covers you with blessing, for He sends down Mercy, decreases sins and answers prayers. In it, Allah looks at your competition (in good deeds), and boasts about you to His angels. So show Allah goodness from yourselves, for the unfortunate one is he who is deprived in (this month) of the mercy of Allah, the Mighty, the Exalted." [Narrated by Tabarani]
The preceding hadiths bring attention to readiness and preparation for receiving Ramadan. This is achieved by having a clear understanding of this month in one's mind, and greeting Ramadan with love and yearning. Also, one should have the determination and intention to perform good deeds and worship, and one should lay down a program to accomplish this in the days of the blessed month.
It is communally obligatory upon the Muslims to seek the crescent at the time of sunset on the 29th day of Sha`ban, and the 29th day of Ramadan, in order to verify the status of the start and end of their fasting. When seeing the crescent, it is sunnah for the Muslim to supplicate with the following supplication, which has been reported from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
On the authority of Talhah ibn `Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him): when the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saw the crescent, he used to say, "Oh Allah! Cause it to appear over us with prosperity, faith (Iman), security and Islam. (Then to the moon:) My Lord and your Lord is Allah." [Narrated by Tirmidhi, who said it is a good (hasan) hadith.]
Qatadah said that he was informed that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to say, when seeing the crescent, "A crescent of goodness and orientation, a crescent of goodness and orientation, a crescent of goodness and orientation. (To the moon:) I believe in Allah who created you." (Three times), and then he would say, "Praise be to Allah who has taken away such- and-such month and brought such-and-such month." [Narrated by Abu Dawud]
The month of Ramadan has excellences over the other months, as is testified to by the Qur'an and Sunnah, and out of these we will bring to attention the following virtues:
1. It is the month of the Qur'an, with regards to revelation and study. ("The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an." [Qur'an, 2:185]). On the authority of Ibn `Abbas: Angel Gabriel used to meet the Prophet every night in Ramadan and used to study Qur'an with him.
2. It is the month of seclusion. Ibn `Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to seclude himself for the last ten days of the month of Ramadan."
3. It is the month of generosity. Ibn `Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to be at his most generous in Ramadan."
4. It is the month of standing (in voluntary night prayer). On the authority of Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "Whoever stands (in voluntary night prayer) during Ramadan, with faith and in expectancy of reward, his previous sins are forgiven him."
5. It is the month of the compulsory fast, because of Allah's saying, "So, whoever among you witnesses the month should fast." [Qur'an, 2:185] A terrible error prevalent among people is to talk about Ramadan just as they talk about the obligation of fasting, as if Ramadan and fasting are synonymous, each carrying the meaning of the other and not anything more nor less. Yet, fasting is one of many acts of worship in Ramadan.
Many reports have been narrated from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) explaining the distinction of Ramadan, of which we have selected the following.
"The month of Ramadan has come to you; a month of goodness and blessing." [Ibn Khuzaymah]
"The Master of the Months is Ramadan, and the Master of the days is Friday." [Ibn Khuzaymah]
"Whoever fasted Ramadan with faith and in expectancy of reward, his previous sins are forgiven him." [Bukhari and Muslim]
"When Ramadan comes, the gates of Heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained." And in a narration from Nasa'i, the following words are added: "and a caller calls out every night: 'Oh seeker of Good, draw near! Oh seeker of Evil, desist!' "

Today, fashion for girls has become a very important part of their lives. Whether they are in need of a new dress or not, they will surely be tempted to buy those newly designed dresses which are displayed in the local shopping malls. It is true that fashion helps improve one's overall beauty and personality, but there are certain things that you need to be aware of when deciding which fashion to go with. There are certain basic rules which need to be followed so that you can improve your physical beauty and not damage it.
Here are some wonderful fashion tips for girls which they cannot go wrong with.
1. One of the first rules of fashion is that you must dress according to the type of body you have. Do not imitate fashion blindly because you definitely don't want to commit what is called as a "fashion disaster." Even the most gorgeous women in the world may have certain flaws and these women are smart enough to hide these flaws with appropriate dressing. When buying a new dress, always keep the flaws of your body and your body type in mind. The dress you choose should not only hide your flaws, but at the same time, they should bring out the striking and attractive features in you.
2. Girls who have broad shoulders or a heavy bust must wear clothing that will not draw attention to these areas of the body. For those girls who have a heavy top should try wearing tops and blouses with horizontal lines, 'V' cut neck and small collars. On the other hand, girls with heavy bottoms should avoid wearing tight dresses. Loose paints that come with low waist are suitable. Loose skirts which have a straight pattern will also work.
3. One of the other important fashion tips for girls is the choice of bras. Bras are essential inner wears and you should make the effort not to show those straps. If you choose to wear spaghetti tops, make sure you go with a strapless bra because showing your bra straps as part of your look is not fashionable at all.
Other quick fashion tips for girls:
- Make up is quite popular as they help enhance the overall physical beauty. When wearing make up, keep it as natural as possible. Avoid using colors like purple, blue and green because they only look good on ramps.
- Add some hair glitter or glitter body gel as they add a touch of cuteness
- Use small hair accessories that sparkle
- Tops and blouses with a little bit of frill will work just fine

fiVE reasONs HIGH heeLS caN hurT yoU

Over the years, high heeled shoes continue to be a popular fashion trend. So popular, it is causing some women to surgically alter their feet in order to fit into them. Even without this, there are health risks associated with wearing high heels.
1. A high heeled shoe forces the posture into an unnatural position that significantly stresses the joints. The spine, which in flat shoes is reasonably straight, forms more of an 'S' shape with the chest and lower back pushing forward and the hips pushed back. The height of the heel also changes the amount of weight on the forefoot. A 1-inch heel will increase the pressure by 22%; a 2-inch heel by 57%; and a 3-inch heel by 76%. This increased pressure puts the forefoot at risk for injuries such as stress fractures, bunions, and hammertoes.
2. Knee pain is common when high heels are involved. The heel height causes increased strain on the knee joint and associated tendons. The quadriceps muscle group in the front of the thigh works harder, increasing pressure on the kneecap by up to 26%. This can ultimately increase the incidence of osteoarthritis of the knee and quadriceps tendinitis.
3. Because of the constant elevation of the heel, contraction and shortening of the calf muscles and Achilles tendon may occur. Habitual wearing of extremely high heels can cause a woman to be unable to tolerate a flat shoe. On occasion, this can even require surgery to lengthen the Achilles tendon. Most often, however, this will increase the chances of Achilles tendinitis or shin splints. 4. The changes in posture and overall imbalance will lead to instability when walking and a resulting risk of ankle sprains. High heels, especially stilettos, will lead to instability and a major increase in ankle sprains result. An ankle sprain is caused from the twisting of the ankle and results in a tear of the ligaments that connect the foot and leg bones and stabilize the ankle. When the heel is balancing on a narrow stiletto heel, if the heel shifts outward slightly a sudden twist may occur to sprain these ligaments. Swelling, bruising and pain will result. At worst, it is possible for the ankle to fracture, a ligament can pull a piece of bone off, or even a bone in the foot can break due to the pull of a tendon.
5. High heels are enjoyed by most women because they are "cute." They are narrow and are contoured to make the foot look slender. The tight fit of many heels will force the toes to conform to its shape. The added pressure on the toes can exacerbate bunions and hammertoes. The pressure of the shoe itself can cause corns to form. Furthermore. The compression of the metatarsal bones can cause pressure on the nerves that run between them. A Morton's neuroma, which is a growth and inflammation of the nerve, can form due to the pressure. Remember, a shoe is meant to fit the foot, not squeeze it relentlessly.
While the overall percentage of women wearing high heels daily has decreased, the percentage reporting physical problems from wearing them has increased. This is likely due to the newer styles that have been introduced. Some have no choice but to wear the shoes for work, however comfort is a priority. Pain should not be a price for style. Be sure to always wear a shoe that is right for your foot. If pain persists, be sure and visit your podiatrist.
